After returning from the Dreamlands alone, Arthur calls Kayne who returns the Entity to him but with amnesia. Yellow is similar in behavior to John in Part One, only instead of meeting in Arthur's office with the book and Parker's body, they're in a snowbound cabin.
Personality[]
Yellow is very similar in personality to John in Part One. He is petulant and aggressive at times, often dismissive of the value of the lives of others. However, like John, Yellow shows an appreciation for life and nature seen through Arthur's eyes, displays curiosity in his surroundings, and appreciates music and poetry.[1][2]
Description[]
Yellow does not have a physical form. He is only in control of Arthur's eyes.
When he projects, Yellow has a yellow cloak, with its tattered edges moving and floating like tentacles. His presence creates an amber glow in the entire room.[3]

Season Three[]
Arthur, dying, has been returned from the Dreamlands, but without John. He flips the coin, summoning Kayne. They make a deal that John will be returned to Arthur's body but without his memories of anything that's happened since Arthur opened the book in his office.[4]
Arthur tries to get the entity to remember their history, but it doesn't work. Arthur dubs this version of his friend Yellow, after The King in Yellow, shutting down Yellow's attempts to manipulate him by threatening to send him back to The Dark World. He expresses frustrations with Arthur, and feels like a prisoner. He says he does not remember much of being the King, even after Arthur has informed him of his identity.[1]
Yellow's relationship with Arthur reaches a tenuous partnership as they learn to work together, and Yellow expresses interest in what made John friendly with Arthur, even apologizing for some of his behavior. However, as he hears Wallace Larson appeal to the superiority of Great Old Ones, he turns on Arthur, with frustration over being torn from his home.[5] At some point, Larson becomes host for Yellow, and the two agree to seek revenge on Arthur.[6]
Season Four[]
Yellow appears with Larson at the Red Hook grain terminal at The Order of the Fallen Star, where he uses his projection ability and forces a man to kill himself as a show of power. According to Larson and the Grand Vizier, Yellow's presence in Larson is slowly killing him. Arthur baits Yellow into projecting by calling him a "pet" of Larson's. Arthur's apologies seem to fall on deaf ears, and Yellow dismisses Detective Noel, saying the memories of torturing him "did not stick".[3]
Yellow projects, throwing Arthur back from Larson to protect his host. When Noel awakens, Yellow uses his power to try to force him to throw himself off a balcony. John then projects, forcing Yellow's influence away from Noel. Yellow is subdued by John, but before he is forced back into Larson's head, he asks why Arthur cares about John. Yellow is then sent back to the Dreamlands with Larson by Kayne.[3]
Known Abilities[]
- Like John, Yellow sees the dying moments of a person whose flesh Arthur touches.[5]
- Projection - Yellow can project himself out of his host. The form is described as like a long shadow, though not tethered to only shade. In this state, he can speak aloud, conjure fog, and can throw people back from his host. However, it is draining physically on the host for Yellow to sustain this form.[3]
- Mind control - Yellow is able to control a person’s movements and force them to kill themselves. When he does this, the victim's head appears to swim in an amber light.[3]
